The world of plus size fashion is making an important transition, from providing mere access for plus sizes to offering more stylish choices than ever before. So, this year Full Figured Fashion Week featured a new panel discussion called My Curves, My Style. I was so excited to work with some amazing plus style divas, including moderator and stylist Steffany Allen, Kendra Porter of Honor Your Style, Leslie Medlik, star of TLC’s Big Sexy, and Marcy Guevarra, host of Marie Claire’s web series, Big Girl in a Skinny World. We planned a program that provided real world style advice and fashion tips to empower everyday curvy girls to flaunt their curves and create their own personal style.
Style by its definition is very personal. It is how you personally navigate the world of fashion. Rebecca, a plus size blogger in attendance wrote on The Plus Side of Me, “So, how DO I carve out my style when I’m suddenly getting choices? I think it’s hard to navigate.” Instead of feeling empowered by the growing number options available in plus size fashion, we often feel overwhelmed and reluctant to try new looks. I know it may feel a bit challenging to find your personal style, but I believe every curvy girl can. Some of us just need a little help to find it.
It is my mission for you divas to share my passion for fashion and rock your personal style. Don’t let your dress size or your budget hold you back from enjoying fashion. How are you going to do that you ask? Here’s how! Presenting six trendy, budget-friendly plus size looks inspired by high fashion in a little something I call Runway to Everyday!
